Depart from the capital and head east toward the Chong-Kemin Valley. Your first stop is the historical Burana Tower (1,200m), an 11th-century minaret that once served as a sentinel on the Silk Road. Explore the field of “balbals” (stone ancestors) before continuing into the mountains. Upon arrival in Chong-Kemin, settle into your guesthouse and enjoy a homemade lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy an easy horse-riding session through the coniferous forests and local village trails. End the day with dinner and a peaceful overnight stay in the valley.

Travel along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, the “Pearl of Central Asia.” After breakfast, we go towards Grigoriev and Semenov gorges. They are located on the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake and are considered the most famous attractions in the Issyk Kul region. You can take a walk and enjoy the wild nature around you. We start with a stop at Jeti-Oguz to see the famous “Seven Bulls” and “Broken Heart” red rock formations. It’s a great spot for photos before we head deeper into the mountains. Next, we visit the Barskoon Valley. After a short hike to the Tears of a Leopard waterfall, we’ll have a picnic lunch surrounded by alpine views and forest. In the afternoon, we reach Bokonbaevo for a Golden Eagle hunting show. You’ll meet a local hunter and see how they train these birds, a tradition kept alive for centuries. We’ll finish the day at a local guest house in Bokonbaevo for dinner and
a quiet night in the village.

Drive: 230 km
We start the morning at Ak-Sai Canyon, walking through its white and beige sandstone formations. A short hike through the dry riverbeds takes us to a viewpoint with a great panorama of the canyon and Lake Issyk-Kul. Next, we drive to Kyzyl-Tuu village for a Yurt Installation. You’ll join a local family to help set up a yurt from scratch. You will help expand the wooden walls, lift the roof poles, and see how the whole structure comes together in just a short time. It’s a hands-on way to see how nomads have built their homes for centuries.

After the show, we stop in Kochkor for lunch at a local cafe to eat and rest before the mountain drive.
From Kochkor, we head up the Kalmak Ashuu pass to Lake Son-Kul, located at 3,000 meters. This high-altitude lake is surrounded by open pastures where shepherds live during the summer. We will spend the night in a yurt camp at Son-Kul. You’ll have dinner at the camp and sleep in a yurt, experiencing the quiet and the stars of the high mountains.

Leaving Son-Kul, we will drive through the Jumgal Valley and cross the Kara-Keche Pass, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. In the afternoon, we arrive in Kyzyl-Oi, an old village located in a narrow gorge of the Kokomeren River.
Sitting at 1,800 meters, the village is known for its reddish clay houses and the high red mountains that surround it, giving it the name “Red
Bowl.” It is a quiet, authentic place that offers a unique look at rural mountain life.
We will spend the night in a homestay in Kyzyl-Oi, where you can walk by the river and enjoy a home-cooked dinner with a local family.
Accommodation: Guesthouse

Drive: 190 km
We leave the “Red Bowl” of Kyzyl-Oi in the morning, following the powerful Kokomeren River. The drive takes us through a colorful canyon
before we emerge into the high-altitude Suusamyr Valley, a vast steppe where nomadic shepherds graze their herds during the summer months.
The highlight of the return journey is crossing the Too-Ashuu Pass, which sits at an elevation of 3,400 meters. We will drive through the 2.5 km tunnel that cuts through the mountain range and then descend a series of dramatic switchbacks that offer panoramic views of the Chuy Valley below.
Upon arriving in Bishkek, we will start a city tour to see the capital’s main sights. We’ll visit Ala-Too Square, the heart of the city, to see the Manas Monument and watch the changing of the guard at the massive Kyrgyz flag. Finally, we’ll head to the Osh Bazaar, one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Central Asia. You can walk through the spice-filled aisles, taste local snacks like kurut, and pick up last-minute handmade souvenirs before we finish our journey with a farewell dinner.
